ATTENTION Help Wanted - The Bop club board is seeking a “Registration/Money Collector/Door Keeper” to assist with the tasks that Carlane and Karen did for so many years. This person does not need to be a member of the club but someone who would be dependable, efficient and would enjoy the social aspect of greeting the dance attendees. Normal time to be at desk is 5:45 pm on dance nights. There are procedures to learn and experience in cashier/bookkeeping is a plus. Normal time to count and balance proceeds is 8:00 – 8:15 pm. After verifying attendance count and Proceeds the paperwork is turned over to Treasurer and Membership Director. Job is usually finished by 8:45 pm. There is a small gratuity that comes with the job. Contact Sue Thompson, President or Ginger Johnson, Treasurer if you know someone who might be interested in this opportunity. (The Door Keeper will not have time to dance.)

Spa City Bop Club had a great May Birthday night on May 9th – 84 dancers enjoyed celebrating all the birthdays and dancing the night away.  Thanks to all the volunteers who help make each dance night fun for all our members and guests.  Our Bop Club is built on our hard working volunteers!
This Friday the the Bop Club will be meeting/dancing on the “Ballroom” side.  Dance lessons will be posted on our Facebook Group Page as soon as possible.  (lessons at 6:30 pm)
This Friday is also our traditional Red-White-Blue Dance night - May 23rd – Red White & Blue Dance Party – Kickoff to Memorial Weekend.  We will be honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
This May has a 5th Friday – May 30th – another fun night of dancing!
Looking ahead to our 23rd Anniversary of Spa City Bop & Swing Dance Club – July 25th.
We invite you to help celebrate these past 23 years of fun and fellowship on July 25th.  Our theme is “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere” (tropical attire).  Tickets will be sold in advance for $25 per person.  Smokin’ In Style is going to be our caterer for this year’s anniversary.  (Same folks that catered DITP)  BBQ meat your choice of: Pulled Pork/Ribs/Chicken/Brisket, Baked Potato Salad OR Mustard Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Slaw, choices of bread, and Anniversary Cake.
FYI – Our Club’s inaugural dance was in July of 2002 at the Austin Hotel in the Silver Fox Lounge. We all have benefited so much from the Charter Members’ initial hard work to get this great club up and running. We always honor all our Charter Members at our Anniversary dance.  Make a point to check the history of our club and learn about those who gave us the great gift of dancing with the Spa City Bop & Swing Dance Club.  

The Board members and volunteers are now assisting with the "check-in taking money" at each dance.  Please be patient with us and IF POSSIBLE bring correct change.
