THE SPA CONNECTION
Spa City Bop and Swing Dance Club
JUNE / JULY 2010
DANCE CLUB LABOR IS A LABOR OF LOVE;
THE WAGES OF A VOLUNTEER ARE PAID IN JOY, FRIENDSHIP & ACCOMPLISHMENT.
Hello Spa City Dancers,
What a fantastic Dancin In The Park event we just experienced. This was only our second week-end event to host, but if possible, I think it may have been better than the first one (at least that is what I am hearing from attendees). So much work, organizing and planning goes into this event, but when it is over, we always look back and realize that it was worth it all. I want to personally thank Jim and Virginia Stanton for serving as our chairpersons this year and also a huge Thank You to Jim for heading up and building our dance floor. This was quite an undertaking by Jim, but he did a fantastic job of planning, constructing and over-seeing this enormous task. Ernie Weidenberger, our own webmaster, did a phenomenal job of handling the reservations and accommodations requested by our attendees. Thanks, Ernie, you are to be commended for all the hours you put into this tedious task. Each committee chairperson including John Wainscott, Glendora Bright, Pat Smith, Carol Williams and Pat Smith stepped up and really worked hard to make sure the event was a success .thanks to each one of you who helped in any way. Without your efforts this fun-filled week-end could not have happened. If for some reason you were unable to attend this year, you missed a great party, so make a vow to not be left out in 2011.
Summer is right around the corner and we have some great events planned and are working on some changes exciting changes for our club, so make sure to attend the dances and stay tuned into your club and its happenings.
As always, I am proud to be your Pres...
Boppin Brenda
All we want to do is Dance Dance Dance!

GREAT NEWS .When ask what activity could help prevent Alzheimer’s disease, Daniel Amen, M.D., author of Magnificent Mind at Any Age stated that few activities stimulate as wide a variety of brain systems as DANCING does. Dancing requires everything from coordination and organization to planning and judgment. Dr. Amen stated that you could add 10 or more years to your brains useful life just by paying attention to it and his number one activity to help produce brain power is DANCING!!! So, never stop dancing!!!
