Daniel Felts & Abby Robertson
Abby started dancing ballet and tap at Shuffles and Ballet II at the young age of three. During these early years, she watched her parents compete in Country Western dancing, and soon followed in their footsteps. She began dancing with her first instructor, Rowdy DuFrene, in 1996, and in 1999 won her first World Championship at the age of 11. She continued to dance with various partners until beginning to compete professionally with Daniel Felts in 2013. They have worked hard over the last few years and are now the current American Country Dance Association Superstar Champions. After having two beautiful girls, Abby continues to pass on the tradition and love of dance to her daughters as they also learn and compete in Country Western dance. By day, Daniel Felts is a radiation therapist, working at UAMS, treating all kinds of cancer patients. In the evenings and on the weekends, however, Daniel is a professional ballroom and country-western dance instructor. Since first starting a training class to become an instructor in 1991, Daniel has instructed and competed in all styles of American ballroom and Latin dancing, as well as country-western style dance. He has competed with multiple amateur and professional partners, most recently with Abby Robertson. Since beginning their partnership in January of 2013, he and Abby have achieved the level of Superstar dancers in the ACDA (American Country Dance Association) dance circuit. Daniel loves dancing, but did not grow up dancing. He took his first lesson ever at the age of 22. He wants to remind everyone that it is never too late to start something new! Keep on Dancing!!
