​​Next dance is March 28th – Lesson – East Coast Swing – Paul George K. 6:30 pm.  You do not need a partner for lessons.  Singles and couples - Guests and members are all welcome to attend!   Our Irish Green night was great fun – 93 folks plus guest dance instructors from Little Rock, Adam and Robin Richardson.  Lessons were super – Thanks to all who helped make this event another fun night – Donna Brinkley and decorations crew – Kermit Gray with photos – our DJ Scotty Mack who keeps the dance floor hopping all night long. 
FYI Remember that our "Door Keeper" ladies have had to retire due to health reasons. Board members and members will volunteer to take up money. Please be patient with us! It takes us a bit longer learning the procedures of this very important task – we are asking that everyone bring EXACT CHANGE(if possible) or write a check. We apologize for the slow check in line but we are all getting “the hang” of checking off members and signing up new members and then making change. As you know, the paperwork has to “balance” at the end of the night. Thanks for all your help.  See bottom of note for “ad” looking to find permanent “door keepers”.

FYI – March 28th is a very Special night. It’s Virginia Stanton’s 66th birthday!  Jim Stanton has asked the board’s permission to host the dance that night in honor and celebration of Virginia.  Jim will be providing birthday cakes and providing admission for those coming to celebrate her birthday.  This will be a very special treat to honor our wonderful longtime friend and let her know how much she is loved and appreciated. There will be a pictorial tribute video playing in the background all evening of the hundreds of times that Virginia (and Jim) have represented our club and the LRBC in events all over Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Florida, Louisianna,  and more.  Virginia (and Jim) were inducted in the American Bop Assn Hall of Fame in 2004 during the Cincinnati Dance Convention.  Virginia served as photographer and historian for both the LRBC and the Spa City Club for more than 15 years.  She served as DITP chairman for many years and is currently still active in all aspects of dancing with Jim’s loving support. Birthday Cards are welcome (but no gifts please).  If you are planning to come to Virginia’s birthday please RSVP to Ginger Johnson (to make sure there will be seating for all.) ginjohn90@hotmail.com.

News for April 11th – Due to a conflict on April 11th at the Barrett Center, our club will meet at the Coronado Center in HSV.  All members and guests will pay the normal admission price of $7 / $10.  The Coronado center has different rules for food – attendees are allowed to bring snacks/sandwiches as long as attendees clean everything before leaving.  All beverages must be purchased from the bar.  Our rent that night is based on how much is purchased at the bar (includes non-alcoholic and alcoholic)  There is no food served at the Coronado Center.  Some restaurants are in and around HSV – please check these out several days beforehand.  If you have never been to Coronado Center – a map will be sent closer to April 11th and posted on FB.  This is an extremely nice venue with a huge dance floor.  FYI – Your GPS may take you on a longer route than the map.
ATTENTION Help Wanted - The Bop club board is seeking a “Registration/Money Collector/Door Keeper” to assist with the tasks that Carlane and Karen did for so many years.  This person does not need to be a member of the club but someone who would be dependable, efficient and would enjoy the social aspect of greeting the dance attendees.  Normal time to be at desk is 5:45 pm on dance nights.  There are procedures to learn and experience in cashier/bookkeeping is a plus.  Normal time to count and balance proceeds is 8:00 – 8:15 pm. After verifying attendance count and Proceeds the paperwork is turned over to Treasurer and Membership Director.  Job is usually finished by 8:45 pm. There is a small gratuity that comes with the job.  Contact Sue Thompson, President or Ginger Johnson, Treasurer if you know someone who might be interested in this opportunity.  (The Door Keeper will not have time to dance.)
